Story and Company

Our family has ancient origins and puts his roots in tuscan agriculture for more than 10 generations.

Ornina Farm is located in the homonymous locality and covers 35 Ha of which 2.5 vineyards, about 10 in the woods and the rimaning arable land and reforestation.

The geographically privileged position together with the particular balance of the territory allow optimal ripening grapes, taking advantage of the thermal shock due to the cold night air currents, typical of the Casentino Valley which, as it is well known, enhance the aromatic varietal characteristics.

The strong aromas that come from our wine led us to the intuition and the subsequent discovery that this land is suited to an extreme viticulture, but with excellent quality, and even better including agricultural and viticultural techniques respectful of the fruit.

We have recovered the native grape varieties cultivated, such as Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo Colorino, Pugnitello who reside in vineyards planted in the early 70s, in soils that are predominantly clay calcareous shale and marl.

We converted the vineyard to organic in 2008 and since 2012 we apply the Biodynamic method; we pay the greatest attention to the use of sulfites, in amounts that are less than half the limit allowed in Organic agricolture.

The harvest is done manually with a particular attention to the selection of grapes in the vineyard and in the cellar.

The passion transferred from father to son, came down to us, Claudia and Marco, sister and brother that have been reorganizing our farm with renewed passion and professionalism and realized the potential of their origin.

We share values ‚Äčof simplicity related to love for our land and to the quality of human

relationships, with a strong passion for good wine and healthy foods.
